License Renewal:
Q: By what date does my license need to be renewed? A: June 30th of each year.
Q: What happens if I cannot renew by the June 30th deadline? A: Your license will expire July 1 and your privilege to title yourself as a "Landscape Architect" and practice landscape architecture ceases.
Q: How many hours of continuing education activities must I report annually? A: Each licensee is required to report at least fifteen (15) hours of continuing educational activities each year. Licensees are also allowed to carry forward a maximum of fifteen (15) hours annually.
Q: If I haven't completed the continuing education requirements by the renewal deadline, should I mail my renewal fee to the Board and follow up with the continuing education report at a later date? A: No. The Board cannot renew a license without receiving both the renewal fee and the continuing education report.
Licensure by Examination:
Q: By what date do I need to apply to the Board for consideration to sit for either the June or December administration of Sections C or E of the L.A.R.E.? A: The deadline for new examination applicants is February 1 for consideration to sit for the June examination and August 1 for consideration to sit for the December examination.
Q: What is required to accompany my examination application? A: The $100 application fee is all that needs to accompany the application. You will need to request that transcripts be sent to the Board verifying your accredited degree in landscape architecture.
